Archer -
Drums / Percussion
Well, when it
comes to writing a biography about your band, it is usually
nice to say that you were there when the whole thing started.
Well, I wasn't there when the whole thing started, and I
am not going to waste precious bio space making funny Grant
jokes...... Or maybe....nah. Anyway, I guess I could start
with a little "brief synopsis" of my background. I have
been a student of the drum since I was about 7 years old.
I started playing on Uncle Ray's drums, since he had them
set up at our house. He was actually the reason that I got
into drums. I did not actually get my own set of drums until
i was in 10th grade. However, by the time i got them, I
already knew exactly what to do with them. I sold them and
went on a ski trip. Then I got a new drum set that was expensive
and nice. I wasn't sure what to do with these new drums,
so as you can guess, I still have all of them. I spent more
money on beefin em up, and now they create the spine of
our music (click songs link to hear our cool songs!!!).
Even though Grant and I have been brothers since like 8th
grade, I was only recently dragged into this project kicking
and screaming and flailing my arms. Now that I am over my
temper tantrum, within the four months that I have been
involved, we have managed to cut a 1/2 length demo LP with
Andy Machin at Big Rock Studios.

This is the biggest
accomplishment I have record of...(I must emphasize this
"I have record of" statement...). The biggest challenge
that I have had to face these past four months is winding
to Mickie's simple straightforward style of music. I grew
up playing to Tool, Incubus, Rush, The Who, Terry Bozzio,
(insert name of gnarly drummer band here). Basically, if
i were to lay my drum style (uncut) right over mickie, you
could call it overplaying! So, I have had to settle it down,
and let the music come through me in a fashion that keeps
the jazz rythym alive, and still cries 'Simplicity' in a
flurry of notes. I truly hope you all enjoy our music. please
visit our songs page and listen to them whenever you like....
Namaste.... Bow Archer
(for those of you who don't know the meaning of the word
"Namaste", it means I honor the divine within you, that
is also within me...)
